Ann Nickel M.Ed, LPC
Ann is a graduate of Stephen F. Austin State University where she earned a Master of Education in Counseling, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies.
Ann believes that each of us have unique life experiences and strengths, and puts focus on those as building blocks for change and growth. Ann is passionate about helping people who are ready for change in life, ready to grow toward goals, or simply ready to understand and love themselves more.
Ann has over 2 decades of experience with pre-teens and adolescents. She offers space for them to be heard, develop emotionally, and define themselves and their values. Parenting a teen can be challenging, as well. Ann can help parents navigate ways to positively and effectively parent during a time when parenting is tough.
As a cancer survivor, Ann has a heart for working with those navigating through a cancer-related journey. She understands all too well that once treatment is over, that is not the end of the journey. Navigating a current diagnosis or post-illness life can be hard, and she wants to be a resource for those in that life space.
Ann sees clients aged 8 through adult, in-person at the East Office and telehealth. She can help with anxiety, depression, life transitions, grief, school issues, parenting, chronic illness/cancer, self esteem, achievement, conflict and development of positive coping.
Ann is providing in person sessions at the West location as well as virtual sessions.
