Frisco THERAPISTS AND COUNSELORS

Kelly DeYoung

Master's Level Intern

Kelly is a Master’s Level Intern in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program at Midwestern State University. She is passionate about walking alongside individuals as they navigate anxiety, trauma, and life transitions, offering a supportive space to slow down, feel understood, and begin healing.

Her approach to counseling is rooted in Person-centered Therapy, where she prioritizes unconditional acceptance, empathy, and creating a space where clients can be fully themselves. She also incorporates Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help clients build flexibility, reconnect with their values, and take meaningful steps toward the life they want to live.

Kelly welcomes clients with a wide range of concerns, with a general focus on anxiety and trauma. She has a special interest in working with individuals experiencing infertility and women’s reproductive mental health concerns, recognizing the emotional complexity, grief, uncertainty, and often isolating stress that can accompany these experiences.

Additionally, as a parent of a child with an auditory disability, she also brings both personal understanding and deep compassion to her work with parents navigating the stress, uncertainty, and powerful emotions that can come with advocating for their child’s needs.

She believes that healing happens in safe, collaborative relationships and is honored to support clients as they build resilience, find clarity, and move forward with greater confidence and self-compassion.

Kelly is available for evening and weekend appointments at our West office.
