Celebrating a Milestone: Adrienne Fields' Licensure in Tennessee

A Journey of Rediscover and Growth

At the beginning of January 2024, I started counseling a 26-year-old man struggling with depression. After high school, he had enrolled in college, but poor grades and attendance forced him to withdraw after two years. Since then, he had worked several odd jobs, none of which were fulfilling or enjoyable.

When we began our sessions, it was clear that his depression was deeply intertwined with issues of self-esteem and self-confidence. Our initial focus was on addressing these foundational challenges. Through our conversations and various therapeutic techniques, we worked on building his self-worth and challenging the negative self-talk that had been holding him back.

By mid-February, a remarkable shift occurred. He began toying with the idea of reaching out to the admissions office at his local community college. This was a significant step, one that showed he was starting to believe in his potential again. By mid-March, he had enrolled in two courses, demonstrating a newfound commitment to his personal and academic growth.

Today, I am thrilled to share that he has completed both courses and earned an 'A' in each. This achievement is a testament to his hard work, resilience, and the effectiveness of the therapeutic process we embarked on together.

Is he completely "recovered" from his depression? No, and he may never be. Recovery is not always about completely eliminating the symptoms but learning to manage them effectively. What he does have now are better coping skills for his depression, a safe outlet to discuss anything and everything he's thinking about, and tools to combat the negative self-talk that has plagued him for years.

This journey has been inspiring, reminding me of the profound impact that counseling can have on someone's life. It underscores the importance of addressing both the symptoms of depression and the underlying issues of self-esteem and self-worth.

Additionally, I am excited to announce and celebrate my recent licensure in Tennessee, a milestone that allows me to extend my services and support to a broader community. Thank you for your continued support and trust in my practice.

As part of our strategy to enhance our presence and outreach, I am pleased to share my professional social media profile for those who wish to follow my work and updates.
